Summary/Abstract: This study investigates gender bias in performance evaluations, focusing on whether assessments differ based on the gender of evaluators and evaluated individuals. Using Czech economics-oriented university students evaluating seminar presentations, a binary logistic regression model analyzes the relationship between evaluator and student gender and the likelihood of receiving the highest grade. Results show female evaluators are generally stricter, significantly reducing the probability of a high assessment. However, there's no evidence that male students receive more favorable evaluations than females, or that individuals favor those of the same gender.
