Summary/Abstract: Studies on the electoral law to the Silesian Sejm of the autonomous Silesian Voivodeship inthe context of legal sciences remain a research issue that has not been comprehensively coveredin the literature to date. In this publication, the author attempted to review the legal status of therules of election to this body for the years 1922–1939, i.e. throughout the period of the actualfunctioning of the autonomous Silesian Voivodeship. In the first part of the article, he presentedthe legal framework for the activities of the Silesian Parliament, adopting the provisions of theconstitutional act of 15 July 1920 containing the organic statute of the Silesian Voivodeship asthe basis for the analysis. In addition, he outlined the main competences of the chamber, powers, duties and term of office. One of the most important issues raised is the lack of fulfilment of theobligation to adopt by the Parliament of the 1st term the act on the internal structure of the Sile-sian Voivodeship, which was to contain provisions on the electoral ordinance for this body. Next, the electoral law system is presented separately for each of the four terms of the Silesian Parlia-ment. Each of the given fragments contains the legislator’s solutions in the matter of: (1) activeand passive suffrage, (2) defining and appointing entities obliged to conduct elections, (3) rulesfor counting votes, (4) approving election results and (5) legitimacy to protest election results. Inaddition to the analysis of the legal status of the principles of electing the Silesian Parliament, theissue of unification of Silesian legislation with national legislation in relation to electoral law wasalso discussed, as well as an attempt to consider the justification of implementing this unification.
