Summary/Abstract: This paper compares the disciplinary structure of the Islamic Theology program at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, University of Sarajevo (FIN), with similar programs worldwide. The aim is to assess the extent to which its structure aligns with comparable international programs. The paper offers several conclusions regarding the implications of this analysis for FIN. First, the Islamic Theology program at FIN is broadly comparable to similar programs globally, with minimal deviations. The study identifies areas for potential refinement of the program but does not find a need for its radical reconceptualization. Second, the most notable deviations from global trends occur where the Faculty is integrated into the system of the Islamic Community, particularly in sending students for imam and religious instructor training and in offering courses on practical Islamic theology (imamate). Finally, the introduction of specialized concentrations is suggested as a possible direction for further development of the Islamic Theology program. However, it is emphasized that this step should be preceded by a careful analysis of labor market demands.
