Summary/Abstract: This paper describes and analyzes adverbs and adverbial modifiers in the Arabic language, focusing on their classification as well as their morphosyntactic and semantic characteristics within traditional Arabic grammar and contemporary linguistics. Without attempting to impose specific lexical or morphosyntactic categories from Indo-European languages onto Arabic, the research aims to provide a concise overview of adverbs and adverbial modifiers within the morphosyntax of Arabic based on theoretical discussions from selected traditional and modern grammars, using temporal adverbs as a sample. The initial hypothesis suggests that Arabic has adverbs and adverbial modifiers that are, to some extent, grammaticalized, along with additional resources for various adverbial expressions. This study falls within the domain of descriptive linguistics.
