Summary/Abstract: The study describes the private aristocratic library of Jozef Esterházy (1682–1748) in the Čeklís manor (today’s Bernolákovo) based on a pilot analysis. It summarizes findings on aristocratic libraries, confirming their influence on cultural and intellectual history. The core clarifies the establishment, thematic composition, structure, building, and sorting of Esterházy's library, using the 1749 historical catalogue. The authors discuss acquisition influences, using biographical data and bookplates found in the University Library and Slovak National Archive in Bratislava. Thematic, linguistic, and chronological aspects are analyzed, emphasizing Esterházy's active readership.
