Medieval Themes in »Glasnik« 1873-1945

Summary/Abstract: The publishing house of the Archdiocese of Đakovo-Osijek publishes the journal Vjesnik Đakovačko-osječke nadbiskupije. The uninterrupted continuity of publication of this journal dates back to 1873, when the first issue was published under the title Glasnik biskupije Djakovačko-Srijemske. The journal underwent several name changes, but it has always been closely tied to the diocese. Its goal was to publish, in addition to the bishop’s circulars and information related to the diocese, articles that would serve the continuous education of the clergy. The paper presents an analysis of the medieval themes published in the first period of Glasnik’s publication. Using the journal as the primary source for research, the author provides an analysis of all works whose content is, in whole or in part, related to the Middle Ages.
