Politics in the Bessarabian Daily Newspaper (1930s)

Summary/Abstract: The article, based on primary sources, such as archival documents and periodical press publications, provides for the disclosure of the main aspects of politics in daily life in Bessarabia in the 1930s. The influence of the political factor in daily life in Bessarabia (1930s) is reflected in the political system in Romania during the period of the constitutional monarchy (1918 – February 1938). The main elements described in the work focus on aspects such as population reaction and daily life, political movements and parties at national and regional levels, as well as the influence of external movements. The influence of the political factor in Bessarabia during the 1930s had a crucial impact on the modernization of the daily life of the inhabitants of the region. In particular, it played a decisive role in the Romanianization process and in the management of inter-ethnic tensions, politics profoundly shaping social and economic realities. The major consequence of this period was significant, and the changes that occurred had strong echoes in the years that followed, especially after 1940, when Bessarabia was occupied by the Soviet Union.
