Summary/Abstract: The authors present in this study the episode of the suing in the summer of 1918 of the Ion I.C. Brătianu Cabinet by the Alexandru Marghiloman Government. The details of this approach imposed by the Central Powers are analyzed and the fact that the “Wallachian lord” was constrained in this respect, but being also an eminent jurist, he anticipated the fate of this approach, knowing that in the legislation Romanian there was no law on exile and extradition, and the investigation committee conducted investigations and house searches. The signing on April 24/ May 7, 1918, in the Cotroceni Palace, of peace with the Triple Alliance was the most difficult political assumption of the statesman Alexandru Marghiloman, who, at King Ferdinand’s request, assumed the salvation of the Country, the Dynasty and the Army, acting in this regard, including by knowingly postponing the ratification of this document. The public opinion gradually understood the sacrifice and the role played by the “great Buzoian” in the difficult period of occupation of the Central Powers troops.
