Summary/Abstract: This paper presents a comparative analysis of profitability across industry sectors in the Republic of Serbia for the years 2021 and 2022. Using official data from the Statistical Yearbooks, the study evaluates sectoral performance based on two core indicators: value added per company and value added per full-time employee (FTE). The results indicate that the mining and quarrying sector consistently ranks highest in value added per company, reflecting strong capital intensity and resource-based profitability. In contrast, the real estate sector exhibits the highest efficiency in terms of value added per employee, highlighting its low labour intensity and high yield per worker. The findings provide insights for policymakers, investors, and analysts regarding sector-specific productivity trends and capital allocation strategies in the post-pandemic Serbian economy. The study builds upon prior empirical contributions published in the International Journal of Economics and Law, reinforcing the relevance of profitability metrics in national economic diagnostics.
