Summary/Abstract: Citizen participation represents a method by which the government collects information about its citizens to enhance performance and meet their needs and expectations. Citizen involvement in decision-making processes leads to increased income, security, and self-esteem for the citizens. Therefore, increasing citizen participation in governmental decision-making has become an important tool for government administration, particularly in the early stages before major decisions are made. Citizen involvement takes into account the fact that individuals affected by a decision have the right to participate in decision-making processes. In recent decades, citizen involvement has become a tool for deepening democracy.
