Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on effectively positioning the relationship between security and education for national development in Nigeria. Education has become a critical issue in Nigerian society, with concerns often revolving around quality fluctuations, deteriorating facilities, insufficient funding, inconsistent policies, gender inequality, teacher efficiency and quality, frequent strikes, and more. As education is the key to resolving societal security challenges, this research assesses national development issues in Nigeria and explores how education can help alleviate the impact of insecurity on development. Based on secondary data sources, it was suggested that a strong security framework alongside a robust educational system is essential for Nigeria to achieve its national development goals with the cooperation of all stakeholders. To foster a united Nigeria, the following policy recommendations are made: the federal government should strive to govern in accordance with sound educational policies, justice, and fairness.
