RESOURCE IMPORTANCE OF THE PLANT SPECIES RUSCUS HYPOGLOSSUM IN THE AREA OF TUZLA CANTON

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to highlight the resource importance of the herbaceous species Ruscus hypoglossum popularly known as soft-leaved boar as an important biological resource. In this work, the determination of the plant species in the area of Tuzla Canton was approached, where certain phytocenological recordings were made that speak about the abundance and representation of the species. The work in brief highlights primarily the classification of the plant species Ruscus hypoglossum and its importance in the ecosystem, indicating the degree of protection it carries. Further research leads to familiarization with morphological and physiological characteristics, its way of life on certain types of soil, as well as its overall representation in the area of Tuzla Canton. It is especially important for us to determine the importance and role and get to know all the resources that this plant can provide us. A special review goes to the use of the plant in human nutrition and treatment, but also what impact it can have on air pollution, which is the key problem of this location. Finally, it is important to properly develop a strategy for its conservation in the ecosystem of this area, because it is on the list of endangered species in the habitats of the Federation of BiH and Republic of Srpska, in order to prevent overexploitation in nature.
