The Beginning of Another, Eternal Life – Pastoral letter on the Resurrection of the Lord – 2025

Summary/Abstract: The ephemerality and the evidence of death around us force us to consider another existence beyond this moment, but we can say very little about it. It is also right that we hold on to life because it is within our reach, even if incomplete. However, the Lord, at Easter, proposes to us another life, this time an eternal one. And here is the novelty of the event, once and for all. It is about another life, with an eternal character, which is inaugurated on this night of mystery. The resurrection is experienced at the level of the mind, as a renewal of understanding, as a change of perspective on life. The man of resurrection transmits to others the joy that he himself receives and becomes a witness to it. The man of resurrection leaves aside the bad past, repents for the old mistake and opens himself to a radical change. The resurrection, therefore, is not an event to be commemorated, but a chance for a new beginning, as a change of mind, of the way we speak and, equally, of the way we live.
