Summary/Abstract: His Eminence Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania, Metropolitan of Cluj, theologian and man of letters, tries to capture a diverse world in prose. Among his literary works, we mention the memoirs Rotonda plopilor aprinşi, Memorii, Amintirile peregrinului Apter and a unique, exotic novel that presents the world of Hawaiian myths to the reader, Străinii din Kipukua. Străinii din Kipukua is similar to the exotic novels written by Mircea Eliade. The novel takes the reader along with the narrator in a world where reality and fantasy merge. The reader also comes into contact with myths and legends specific to a community in Hawaii. We thus learn that all over the world there are peoples who live their myths and legends, to which writers give an aura full of beauty. His Holiness B. V. Anania captures this world from the edge of contemporary civilization and teaches us to value it as we value our myths and legends because we enrich ourselves culturally when we come into contact with what is beyond our civilization. Prose writer, poet and playwright, he makes us understand that contemporary civilization is based on the incredible charge of beauty given to us by these ancestral elements of life, marked in the prose writer by an authentic Christian experience.
