Father Professor Ioan Ageu (1917–2010) – a necessary historical restitution

Summary/Abstract: This study presents in detail the life and activity of the priest Professor Ioan Ageu from the Theological Academy in Arad, referring to his intellectual training, his family life, his teaching, university and publishing activity, but also to the 3 arrests and incarcerations in communist prisons, until his release in 1964. The study then presents his work, the last period of his life, his funeral, his place of rest, and his image in the mentality of the people who knew him. The study, as a whole, tries to restore the face of the priest, teacher, and confessor Ioan Ageu, thus fulfilling an act of justice in terms of the almost exhaustive restoration of his human, intellectual, and theological personality.
