Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on Paisie Velicikovsky’s preoccupation with one of the essential aspects of Orthodox monastic life - the Prayer of the Mind. An attempt was made to establish the location where the pious abbot knew this practice, his preoccupations with the readings of the works of the Holy Fathers and their translation for the solid argumentation of the Prayer of the Mind, which took place on Mount Athos. A special place was given to the disputes that the abbot of Dragomirna, Sec and Neamț had with the opponents of this practice, which in fact contributed to the hesychia in the monastic places.
