Summary/Abstract: The effect of Augmented Reality (AR) as a teaching tool on student learning outcomes in various educational contexts is investigated in this meta-analysis. AR blends digital content with the real world, offering an interactive and immersive learning environment. The analysis provides a thorough assessment of AR's efficacy in enhancing educational outcomes by combining the results of several investigations. To ascertain the overall influence of AR on learning outcomes, the chosen studies underwent statistical analysis employing effect sizes and strict inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis results revealed a significant positive impact of AR on student learning outcomes, with the overall effect size indicating substantial improvements in academic performance. The analysis showed that AR was particularly effective in subjects requiring spatial reasoning and visualization. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that AR increases student motivation and engagement, which helps them retain and comprehend difficult subjects better. Despite the positive findings, the meta-analysis highlighted variability in AR’s effectiveness based on factors such as subject matter, implementation quality, and student demographics. Potential obstacles to wider adoption included issues such as high cost, the requirement for specialized teacher training, and the creation of relevant Augmented Reality content.
