Summary/Abstract: The study on self-concept has expanded considerably, especially in educational and psychosocial contexts. This article explores how Generation Z's perceptions of themselves, heavily shaped by social media interactions, influence their academic performance, well-being, and identity construction. Central to this exploration is the selfie phenomenon, where individuals present idealized versions of themselves online. By encouraging social comparisons, selfies intensify the influence of social media on self-esteem, often causing individuals to assess their self-worth against idealized representations of others. This article examines these social dynamics, focusing on how the constant comparison to these idealized digital selves contributes to both self-perception and psychosocial challenges.
