Summary/Abstract: In this scientific endeavour the role and significance of human resources in the reform of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova is analysed. The reform of the justice system is one of the overall objectives of the Republic of Moldova, as well as a primary requirement for accession to the European Union. Although, during the last two decades concrete steps have been taken to reform the judicial system, the process has not been completed and human resource is deemed as the catalyst of this reform. In this context, in this paper we present the efforts made by the decision makers of public institutions in the last 2–3 years to successfully carry out this reform by adopting and adjusting the legal framework, focused on ensuring the independence and integrity of judges and other court personnel. In order to assess the actions undertaken to reform the judiciary, a sociological survey was conducted among 252 respondents, employees of the courts. The results show a certain scepticism on the part of the respondents.
