Summary/Abstract: John Rawls' "A Theory of Justice" is a highly influential work in political and practical philosophy. In the context of the Cold War, Rawls offered an alternative to utilitarianism in resolving ethical questions. He proposed a model of a fair social contract based on individuals' neutral positions, rationalism, and the deontological principle of equal human rights. This study analyzes problematic aspects of Rawls' theory, revealing inconsistencies. Using critical analysis and synthesis of Rawls' original work, the study concludes that despite flaws, Rawls' theory remains highly relevant.
