Summary/Abstract: One aspect of Poland’s war preparations in case of aggression from Germany and the USSR was the use of the Border Protection Corps (Korpus Ochrony Pogranicza, KOP). Formed from military personnel to secure the eastern border, this 30,000-strong formation was quickly incorporated into the mobilization plans of the Polish Army, which evolved over time. Ultimately, in 1939, parts of the KOP were transferred westward as early as spring. Meanwhile, reserves left in the east were gradually weakened after 1 September.
