A Bitter End? The Final Years of Colonel Idzi Kalinowski (1625–1627)

Summary/Abstract: This article is a continuation of three previously published parts of the biography of Colonel Idzi Kalinowski, a commander of the Lisowczycy (c. 1627). Based on an extensive source base, a number of facts have been established, and some claims from earlier literature have been corrected. The text discusses the life of this commander against the backdrop of the history of his formation between 1625 and 1627. It covers the period from the return of the Lisowczycy to the borders of the Commonwealth (1624/1625) to Kalinowski’s death (around 1627).
