Summary/Abstract: In a globalised economy, standardising contracts simplifies and streamlines commercial transactions, reducing costs and negotiation time. It provides legal certainty and predictability and is commonly used in sectors such as finance, telecoms and e commerce. However, standardisation can limit the freedom of contracting parties by imposing rigid and sometimes unfair terms, especially for consumers. By analysing the associated benefits and risks, this article examines the necessary balance between efficiency and protection of vulnerable parties. Relevant European and national regulations are also covered, along with modern solutions, including the use of smart contracts to increase transparency and fairness in commercial relations.
