Summary/Abstract: The educational objectives of Catholic religious education in elementary and high schools are essentially focused on the growth of the religious personality of students that can be seen and reflected in the liturgical communion of the People of God. Contemporary social movements leave a strong impact on the construction of Eucharistic communion among young people, especially on their relationship with the parish as a particular Church. The task of the catechist in the educational process of promoting Eucharistic culture relies on all dimensions of school catechesis, associated in a coherent way with religious upbringing in the family and with parish catechesis. Education for the Eucharist has elements of mysticism, ritual and symbolism: educational results are transmitted to the area of deeper knowledge, worship and authentic action. Catechesis focused on the liturgy is at the service of the Sunday celebration and the Eucharistic life of the parish community. The spiritual and professional identity of the teacher of religion, and most of all his evangelical mission, will create the best conditions for a fruitful evangelization and catechetical effort.
