Summary/Abstract: The third decade of the 21st century has brought radical changes to the inter- national security environment, with multiple consequences for the European Union and individual member states, including Poland. It is reasonable to argue that the existing international order, referred to as the liberal democratic order, is a thing of the past, and the new shape of the international order is only in statu nascendi. The existing paradigms no longer allow for correct interpreta- tions of contemporary international relations. The end of the previous shape of the international order was triggered by several mutually stimulating factors that show a synergistic effect. The consequences of the change thus outlined are multifaceted and, as a result, we are faced with the formation of a new international security environment, characterized by uncertainty and an in- creasingly apparent lack of fixed reference points. This significantly affects both the European Union as a whole and individual member states. The research resulting in the presented text was carried out using the methods of system analysis and factor analysis, and in the forecasting part - morpholog- ical analysis.
