Summary/Abstract: Career guidance for people with disabilities is undoubtedly a crucial means of enabling them to find a suitable career path that takes into account their unique abilities. This paper reviews research that focuses on career counselling in the context of disability, with research conducted in countries with different socio-cultural backgrounds. Existing data have highlighted the importance of career counseling for individuals with disabilities, with an emphasis on strengths and a supportive environment. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the research studies conducted and to inspire Slovak researchers to further develop research in this area, as there is relatively little research on career counselling for people with disabilities in Slovak context.
