Summary/Abstract: This study describes a sequence of the most important data for the cooperation of the Republic of Moldova with Romania and the European Union in the field of security and defense. State security and defense are interdependent with regional and international security. Thus, ensuring the existence and development of a state is conditioned by two elements: ensuring internal security and defense, and the second element ensuring external security and defense, which can only be guaranteed through close cooperation with neighboring countries and integration into the large family of the European Union. Currently, state institutions and decision-makers are making efforts and taking strategic actions to convince and demonstrate to neighbouring countries and international actors the willingness and openness that our country can show in crisis situations and the effective role it could play in managing them. Furthermore, state institutions have recently become more open and active in dialogues, debates, cooperation, participation in international operations, and international training in the field of security and defense, which highlights the importance of relations with neighboring countries.
