Summary/Abstract: Digital platforms are a challenge for many different areas of impact, and business law is certainly one of them. Compared to traditional multinational groups, the corporate structure is based on a few operational subsidiaries while coordinating an extensive network of contractual partners. In the case of digital platforms, it is the organizational structure that is given a pivotal role being formed and developed through contractual mechanisms. The presence and importance of tangible physical assets becomes marginal, with digital platforms managing to have a significant presence among host countries while leaving a reduced physical footprint.
