Summary/Abstract: The text discusses the issue of the volok measurement which was carried out in the Tykocin starosty in 1559. It analyses the existing accounts drawn up on the basis of the register of the volok measurement of this starosty, as the document itself has not survived to our times. The analysis covered such issues as the area and quality of arable land and extra land in sett elments in the Tykocin starosty, demographics in Tykocin, the number of Jews living there, taverns, mills and servant crafts or the issue of putny servants. The appendix compiles and publishes queries on the register of volok measurements made by Jan Glinka.
