Summary/Abstract: This study presents (or offers) an objective analysis of contemporary Bulgarian church history, through the letters of All-Russian Patriarch Alexy I to the Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) under the Council of People's Commissars/Council of Ministers of the USSR, including the processes that took place in the BOC after September 9, 1944 and the personality of Exarch Stefan in connection with the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the schism over the BOC in 1945 and the election of the Bulgarian exarch Stefan.
