Summary/Abstract: The article considers the ascension of Mount Sinai by Moses (Ex. 3; 19-20; 24; 31-34; Deut 4-7) as a preface of the union of the soul with God and in relation to the deification (theosis). It establishes that, according to the statements, commentaries, and interpretations of various saints, Church Fathers and Christian mystics, it depicts the ascension of the soul to God, the promise and union with Him, Who is uncreated light, and represents a process that takes place on an inner spiritual level.
