Summary/Abstract: In the context of the Church’s mission in the contemporary world, the role of the military chaplain gains particular significance. The chaplain must not only be trained in theology but also be aware of the specific challenges of the military environment and apply missionary principles appropriately. It is essential for the chaplain to embrace his responsibilities with dedication, transparency, and devotion, combining theological knowledge with an understanding and respect for the spiritual needs of those he serves. Thus, his mission becomes exemplary, addressing the traditions of the military as well as the life of the Church and society as a whole. This analysis highlights the importance of a Christ-centered theology in approaching modern challenges and the significant role of the military chaplain in the Church’s mission in the contemporary world. The Orthodox theological perspective offers an optimistic view of the world, contrary to the autonomous perspective, and emphasizes the Church’s missionary role in restoring the relationship between man and God.
