Summary/Abstract: In this article, I will dissect four poems written by Carol Ann Duffy in order to highlight the theme of “hauntedness” – unheimlichkeit, which engulfs the stories and personae presented in the poems. By analysing the disturbing presence of “ghosts” and the merging of past, present and future into one haunting repetitive space-time, I will reveal all the uncanny elements featured in these brilliant poems by Carol Ann Duffy.
