Summary/Abstract: In Latin American literature, the long-standing partnership between Adolfo Bioy Casares and Jorge Luis Borges is notable, characterized by Bioy Casares as a friendship rooted in daily conversations and collaboration. Their collaborative process was synchronous and conducted in person. Starting in the 1960s, they acknowledged their challenges in moderating the humorous-satirical tone in favor of other narrative styles. They noted that their fictional author, Bustos Domecq, cannot write seriously, highlighting two issues: verbal exuberance often overshadows the narrative, and, frequently, it fails to resonate with the audience. The distinct approach of Bustos Domecq in literature involves transforming any scenario with dramatic potential into a ludicrous narrative, leading to the conclusion that they do not write well together. During this period of greater self awareness, they published their final two books, Crónicas de Bustos Domecq (1967) and Nuevos cuentos de Bustos Domecq (1977), which serve as an invitation to analyze their resolution strategies.
