Summary/Abstract: This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the problems faced by students in the first year of study. The authors used in the analysis the responses received to a questionnaire that was distributed to first-year students, belonging to the technical field of Constructions, Automation and Computer Science. This study analyzes the subjective and objective responses received and highlights the role of the university and teaching staff in guiding young students. The development of their technical skills must be carried out consciously and continuously throughout the educational process. The results of the study and the conclusions drawn from the research can be applied to achieve better adaptation of students and increased performance in learning.
