THE NATURE OF STUDIES AND WRITINGS REGARDING ACTIVITIES OF RAMADAN SOKOLI (14.06.1920-10.03.2008)

Summary/Abstract: For people that gave particular contribution and significant results in given scientific fields is never enough to write. Their work becomes object of research and study in different ways. A personality of the first line in Albanological sciences was undoubtedly Ramadan Sokoli. It should be said that R. Sokoli with his work in the field of music sciences, particularly in ethnomusicology, put himself in the line of names among European ethnomusicologists which promoted their national ethno musicological values, such as: Cjetko Rihtman from Bosnia, Vinko Zhganec from Croatia, Stojan Gjugjev from Bulgaria, Zivko Firfov from Macedonia, Zmaga Kumer from Slovenia, Claudie Marcel du Bois from France etc. we have oriented our presentation in this paper towards approaches and nature of studies, writings, thoughts expressed in Albanian periodicals about him and his work in the field of music. Therefore, when at present we measure the weight of the work and achieved results in music-albanological sciences, without doubt we can claim that Ramadan Sokoli was special personality of the century for entire Albanian culture. We believe deeply that interest for searching, studying and assessment of the results from the work done in the field of music, more particularly in ethnomusicology, will never fade among present generation, but also among future generation.
