Summary/Abstract: The research aimed to examine the moderating role of psychological safety in the relationship between employees' emotions and their behaviours, such as promotive and prohibitive voice, as well as engagement. The study was carried out on a sample of 279 respondents, employing a convenience sample of employees with at least one year of work experience. Instruments measuring psychological safety, employee voice, and work engagement were used. The results indicate that Positive emotions are strongly associated with employee behaviours, enhancing both promotive and prohibitive voice, as well as engagement. However, psychological safety emerged as a crucial moderating factor—among employees with high levels of psychological safety, Positive emotions enable the expression of opinions and active participation in organizational processes. Conversely, negative emotions generally inhibit proactive behaviour, although psychological safety can somewhat mitigate their negative impact. These findings highlight the importance of creating a safe working environment that allows employees to express their emotions freely and fosters a proactive approach. Organizations that promote psychological safety can harness the positive effects of emotions on employee productivity and engagement. Future research should focus on a deeper understanding of specific emotions, particularly negative emotions, to identify their constructive and destructive aspects within an organizational settings.
