Summary/Abstract: Fairy tales play an important role in children education and development. These fictional stories have a powerful impact on the development of children's cognitive, emotional and social skills. Today's social development and demographic movements of the population create the necessity of knowing different cultures. Children's literature from various geographical areas and different authors has enhanced reading literature outside territorial boundaries and this increases the necessity of researching cultural and mental influences of stories from different cultures. Fairy tales are often used in primary education practices to complement educational goals and help shape children's characters and values. As an important part of folk tradition, reflect beliefs, norms and values not only of the society in which they are created, but also of societies in which they are read and shown to children. The main purpose of this paper is to observe the curriculum of preschool and elementary education, to investigate and analyse the ideological and formative influence of children through oral or written reports. The study used the quantitative method through a questionnaire, (Likert scale), as well as the qualitative method realized via two focus groups with children of preschool and Primary Education, as well as interviews to understand how fairy tales have shaped their concept of different social phenomena. From the findings, it was concluded that people often create gender and mental stereotypes and find it difficult to modernize them.
