Summary/Abstract: The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in media education and information presents both opportunities and challenges. As digital platforms evolve and information consumption habits change, educators must adapt their teaching strategies to prepare students for an environment dominated by AI technologies. As AI tools have developed, we’ve had so many questions. Is this good? Can AI be harmful? What is the source of its responses? Will robots take over the world? But one question seems to stand above them all with teachers and educators, though. Can we use this to teach and learn authentically? And if so, how? This paper explores the role of AI in enhancing media education, discusses its implications for information literacy and suggests not only pedagogical approaches to effectively integrate AI in educational settings but also a number of ideas for using AI assistants in classrooms, brainstormed by humans (teachers) and by the AI bots.
