Summary/Abstract: "Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, understand and manage one's own emotions and those of others. It is a set of competences that facilitates empathic communication, stress management and effective collaboration - essential for successfully navigating in today's dynamic environment. In essence, EQ equips us with the tools needed to build and maintain healthy and productive relationships, whether in our personal lives or in our professional settings. With the shift from economies based strictly on physical strength and analytical ability to economies based on service and knowledge, skills such as empathy, effective communication and emotional self-regulation have become critical points of differentiation between individuals. Modern organisations and their leaders now recognise that sustainable success and genuine innovation spring from a deep understanding and skilful management of emotional dynamics [2,3].Every one of us knows people who, despite excelling academically and consistently placing at the top in school, have failed to achieve their life goals as they would have liked. In contrast, there are also those individuals who, despite having achieved modest results during their formal education, have gone on to become successful individuals recognised for their impressive achievements. Thus, a clear distinction needs to be made between those who are academically 'smart' and those who are 'smart' in their approach to life, and between the concepts of smartness, which relates to cognitive skills, and smartness, which relates to the ability to adapt and navigate the complexities of life [2].
