The importance of UX research in software development

Summary/Abstract: Csilla Herendy’s book is about the theoretical background of UX research, the detailed description of the individual methods, their practice, and the benefits of their application in software development. In the theoretical part of the book, we can read the presentation of the human-machine-environment system model; definitions related to ergonomics, more narrowly software ergonomics; the clarification of the conceptual framework of the user experience and the four types of theoretical organization of UX research. In the practical part, case studies and the various UX research methods are presented. The review describes the contents of the book in detail, lists the methods in the volume and highlights the basic concepts of the field. In addition to all this, it emphasizes that the importance of UX research is decisive during software development, whether it is a simple program, a public website, or a mobile application.
