Summary/Abstract: The article presents several views of the authors on the concepts of professionalization and professional development in diachronic evolution. The analysis of the concepts in a historical perspective demonstrates their importance and relevance in the training of specialists in various professions in general, and of teaching/management staff in particular. The meanings presented are aimed at the Anglo-Saxon and Francophone spaces, with emphasis on the differences that exist in the definition of these notions. Another notion promoted is organizational learning specific to educational institutions, based on the idea that any institution can become a learning/training organization. The organizational learning process aims at transforming an institution in managing tense situations that arise at the institutional or collegial level.
