Summary/Abstract: "The religious imagery in Ion Pillat's work captures the balance between tradition and modernity of Ion Pillat's poetry. In folklore, for example, the poet finds some representative particularities and modulations: resignation, serenity, joy, balance. The proximity to pictorial art and to the churches of Moldova expresses the enthusiasm for folk mythology, in correlation with its modern urban culture. The poet restores the connections between folklore and the religious representations of childhood, such as in the Story of the Virgin Mary, which has as its source the horizon of native beliefs, but also the close communion with the native space."
