Summary/Abstract: The article aims to identify solutions to remedy the dysfunctions revealed in the Văleanu case and to ensure the speedy completion of the process of restitution of property confiscated by the communist regime. To this end, it presents the problems that are hampering the refund mechanism, proposes specific solutions to them and outlines the coordinates for future action involving the joint effort of all national authorities with responsibilities in this field.
