Diagnosing of the Suspension System and the Typical Defects Detectable During Particular Technical Inspections

Summary/Abstract: The shock absorbers are included in the dumping elements of the vehicle’s suspension system. Incapacity of the shock absorbers decides about the vehicle’s movement during driving time, causes safety decrease (less wheel adhesion to road, extension braking distance) and it has influence on vehicle’s stability. More accurate diagnosis unusable shock absorbers is possible only in the inspection stations. In the diagnostic testing which is executed in the inspection stations and the vehicle servicing the most frequently practice the examination of the shock absorbers in condition mounted in vehicle, from the note for easiness and speed of taking measurements. The damped blast method found general application to describe the technical condition of the automobile, the field and the delivery truck suspension system. The devices for researching the suspension system completely show their usefulness in the inspection stations and the vehicle servicing and in the garages. Nowadays, producing devices for researching the suspension system (the shock absorbers) are made in stationary or mobile version (with overrunning ramp). They can be used only for controlling in automobiles or the delivery trucks. Diagnosing of the suspension system in the lorries or the buses is still used with the orgaleptic method.
