Summary/Abstract: In the context of the 70s political relaxation, Nicolae Ceauşescu decided to gain more support within the Romanian Communist Party by officially recognizing the contributions of more pre-1945 communist activists, the so-called ”ilegalişti”. The document, from the National Archives, shows the results of the internal official review process, the group structure, statistics and its profile. The report includes new political criteria used for enlarging the size of the illegal activists group involved before 1945 in communist activities and the follow-up administrative proposals to include the new group within the nomenclature.
