Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the findings from research on political bias within selected Polish radio stations during the lead-up to the 2023 parliamentary election. The article also explores how much airtime radio stations dedicated to political content during an active election campaign, offering insights into whether radio still serves as a relevant medium for modern political communication or if its influence has diminished. The study employed a content analysis of news broadcasts from four of Poland’s most popular radio stations, distinguished by the highest listenership ratings. The collected data were used to calculate the Media Political Bias Index, a metric enabling comparative analysis of bias levels across different media outlets. Analysis of the 8:00 PM news broadcasts over the month preceding election day, covering RMF FM, Radio Zet, Jedynka (the First Program of Polish Radio), and Radio Tok FM, revealed that public radio exhibited the highest degree of bias, dedicating the most time and content to the electoral competition. Among commercial stations, the study observed a varying degree of political bias and engagement in campaign coverage.
