Summary/Abstract: In the context of Hungarian emigrant literature, my lecture deals with the work of Lorand Gaspar, a bilingual author of Hungarian origin from Transsylvania who constitutes a special area of cultural dialogue between Western and Central-Eastern Europe. The poetic work of Gáspár Lóránd, a former refugee from the East to the West, developed totally in French. My reading is thus one of interculturality or transculturality par excellence. My reflection is based on the exchanges between the two works through correspondence, translations and rewritings. I will be interested both in Gaspar's work re-read from the perspective of Pilinszky's work, and in Pilinszky's work re-read from the perspective of his attachment to Gaspar's poetry. The poetic correlations between the two works, which go well beyond philological frameworks, are so rich that I have decided to focus, at the intersection of the two works, on the relationship to language, to speech and, more particularly, to silence.
