Summary/Abstract: Lorand Gaspar is not only a poet but also an accomplished photographer, with a singular body of work, a significant part of which remains unpublished to this day. In this article, we propose a reflection, inspired by Barthesian semiology, on the presence of photography in Carnet de Patmos. The result of a carefully curated composition of texts previously published in journals and photographs from the poet’s stay in Greece, Carnet de Patmos allows a poetic rhythm to emerge, where writing, image, and even blank spaces contribute to a semiotic approach that conveys a kinetic vision of the world – one that also lends itself to being read as an ecological plea. This article seeks to demonstrate this by moving from a global reflection on Gaspar’s photographic aesthetics to a more interpretative approach, where two possible modes of assembling photography and text are examined.
