Research on the Degree of Correlation between Knowledge and Skills to Solve Problem Tasks in Technical Education

Summary/Abstract: Today, the needs of Slovak industry require an excellent technical level and the readiness of workers to solve everyday technical problems in practice. Basic and subsequently improved technical knowledge should be acquired by the educator at the primary and lower secondary level of education. Learning about technical phenomena and regularities takes place in the cognitive and psychomotor area. These two areas of education are very important in the subject of technology for an effective understanding of the curriculum. In the scientific study, we focus on research focused on the relationship between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in solving problem tasks in technical education. At the end of the research study, we present a discussion and recommendations for pedagogical practice.
